Progress of researches on the development of non-benzimidazoles for the treatment of echinococcosis

Abstract: The long?term use of benzimidazoles for the treatment of echinococcosis may cause multiple adverse reactions and low compliance. A search for novel agents, as an alternative of benzimidazoles, is therefore of great significance for the treatment of echinococcosis. This review focuses on the progress of researches on non?benzimidazoles for the clinical treatment of echinococcosis, including anti?parasitic agents, anti?proliferative agents and plant extracts, so as to provide insights into the further development of non?benzimidazoles.

摘要: 苯并咪唑类药物治疗棘球蚴病会对人体产生诸多不良反应且患者服药依从性较低,研发新型可替代的棘球蚴病治疗药物十分必要。本文重点对抗寄生虫类、抗癌细胞增殖类及植物提取物等3类非苯并咪唑类药物对棘球蚴病治疗效果进行综述,以期为此类药物进一步研发提供参考。
